With over 160,000 visitors and an average of 80 world class competitors this really is an equestrian event in a class of its own.
Over 50 years ago this trial has 19 competitors and 12,000 spectators and no other horse trial has showed as many championships. Riders from around the world vote it as a favourite and is most highly regarded and popular today.
Burghley has been graced with royal competitors and visitors including Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips who won Burghley in 1973 then became course designer.
Historically, Burghley came out of pure accident as the Marques of Exeter invited the British Horse Society to attend his land for Harewoods 3 day event as it had been cancelled due to a suspected outbreak of foot an mouth...it has continued since on its remarkable journey that leads us to today.

RVs have leather upholstery, sky tv, flushing wc, seperate full sized hot showers, luxury bed linen and towels, memory foam mattress and much more. We also include a gas bbq should you wish to dine alfresco and garden furniture to compliment it.
