Glastonbury Motorhome RV Hire
Glastonbury Motorhome RV hire at Worthy Farm, Pilton Somerset. This festival first made its appearance in 1970 the day after Jimi Hendrix died although it was not common knowledge at this point. Artists such as Marc Bolan and The Kinks led on this event where 1500 people attended at a price of £1 and included free milk from the Farm!
It was known as Glastonbury Fayre then and was founded by Michael Eavis from an inspiration he had from a Blues festival in Bath. From this he then created Glastonbury but on a much smaller scale.
In 1979 the Glastonbury Fayre became a 3 day event and 1979 saw Arabella Churchill and Bill Harkin instigate it. Then with further funding coming from Michael Eavis of which he took a bank loan out against his farms deeds. In the early years the fayre was powered by a caravans electric meter that led to the stage.
Unfortunately in the late 70's, Glastonbury fayre, suffered financial loss so no fayre was held in 1980. In 1981 Glastonbury fayre changed its name to Glastonbury Festival.
